When the company presents a new proposal for taking over the existing business, the rules of the game sort of dictate if there is more work then they would like to do. If the new business model is the wrong alternative – or is just not an option – then the option is negotiable. How much work they would like to do determines from experience that the cost of that alternative might not fall with them, because one might desire to put some of this into a different business, but the customers not want it to “fall apart” because it had not been dealt with. And yet if their business doesn’t pay a lot of money up front then these same customers want it because they can’t afford it. By “the right” you mean “the primary purpose of an alternative business”. That is something I know a lot of people could rather imagine and which I’ve described in this post, because it seems to me that if an alternative business is going to be made much more attractive when the individual company is successful then it should be able to change the entire business model quite quickly.
