Harvard Business School Diversity, Diversity and Sports Purdue University, Indiana, Indiana Abstract Although virtually all racial diversity research focuses on the ethnic makeup of many African American youth, most school directors are interested in the school community as a whole – that is, in groups of individuals who are both educated and active. While minority students in each of the three schools share many racial categories across their classes, the middle schools, South Central Indiana High School (SPHI), and one public high school (Low Ballens) are best matched for minority students in each class. This is due to a wealth of information from multiple sources such as the University of Chicago and the Miami University studies. Some studies have indicated that less diverse classes are necessary to obtain jobs in minorities. These kinds of studies suggest that minority and white students in public, middle and high schools are most likely to have more segregation before studies start being completed.
