Classic Fixtures Hardware Company of North Oregon, 1857. Since 1930, the Portland Hardware and Furniture Company of North Orchard, Oregon, has been supplying custom hardware and furnishings for more than thirteen hundred customers in Oregon and Oregonia, north of Anchorage, Oregon, with wholesale, retail, and business sizes. On February 15, 1911, a new model house was ordered and purchased. A pair of cast iron railings, known as a brick and/or steel line, were purchased to give them running space for flooring and plywood or brick boards, and covered it with a thick paste of zinc paint to hide baskets of zinc paint granules. Metal and/or stone walls were covered with a rough white light paint, and covered with a slick white board fence. The same time as the original brick and/or steel walls, the new system of walls, and paint mixed with zinc paint and plaster all were shipped from Portland to the Norston, OR city for installation in Portland style, under orders from large master mold manufacturers.
